The compositions, that are on display in the gallery, are parts of a series of paintings. They are all parts of an inner journey, and I have been working on them for the last 7 to 8 years. These works of art are made on sheets of paper glued to fibreboard (25x40cm) using watercolour, clack ink, ink and acrylic techniques. They are all set in 40x50cm frames, and they can be purchased as well. Inspirational solutions and visuals have been placed in these frames. These paintings or some of their details can be used as a reprint to create wallpapers and other spectacular graphic solutions based on what colour scheme dominates your interior. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me by using any of my contacts if you have a special request for a custom made image or idea. Thank you in advance. Kefo
Arpad Kassai was born in 1964. His first independent exhibition opened in Austria in 1992. Since then, his paintings have been featured in countless exhibitions in Hungary, as well as in Europen cities such as Wien, Munich, Bilbao or Basel… His calligraphies were presented at several exhibitions in Japan.
Seeing the painting is always an experience. It is alive and affects us. The framed image itself is reality. It is the visualisation of the artist’s inner world. The dimensionally emerging white sheets in the frame, represent another aspect of this inner world. The geometric shapes, that appear on the white sheet, are manifested from this spiritual world. These forms on their own, or in their relation to one another; express harmony, orientation, even tension. Forces are strained or cling together. The thin sheets of paper are fragile, yet firm. Colours float, dissolve and mix in these forms. Sometimes they gently flow into one another, sometimes they cover space with powerful energy. The presence of the image can be accented, dominant in the space; or even gentle. Similar to a scent, a musical piece or a flavour. The artist uses his own inner experiences, energy, and self for his pictures. The creation affects the creator and thus they are transformed into unity and harmony. The purpose of the artist is to come aware of his own existence, to shape and experience it through the process of creation. Creation is the course of his life, as he puts his thoughts into words.
”By walking the path of Zen Buddhism, I experience the harmony of wholeness as a ’rankless, true man’. Creating with a quotidian spirit is not my goal, but my only tool on the path which leads me beyond rational reasoning.”
